Hello and welcome to my campaign website. My name is Dale Jensen and I am running for a seat on the RWA Board.

Background

I grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and spent most of my adult life in the Midwest. After a 32-year career with the telephone company—beginning with Ohio Bell, then Ameritech, and ultimately AT&T—I retired and Rosemarie and I purchased a second home in Rotonda West. In 2010, after deciding we had endured enough Midwest winters, we made Rotonda West our permanent home. I have proudly called this community home for the past 16 years. In my free time, I enjoy golfing, volunteering in the community, and managing my willful but lovable dog.

Experience

  • Past Chair, RWA Deed Restriction Committee
  • Past Chair, RWA Election Committee
  • Current Member, RWA Building and Grounds Committee
  • Current Member, RWA Residential Modification Committee
  • Local Coordinator, Englewood AARP Tax-Aide Program

Accomplishments

The volunteer accomplishment I am most proud of is leading the implementation of electronic voting for the Rotonda West Association. For many years, I believed members deserved a convenient, secure alternative to the traditional paper ballot. In 2025, that vision became a reality. Electronic voting increased convenience, improved accessibility, and gave members another easy way to participate in Association elections.

Another accomplishment that is especially meaningful to me is serving as the Local Coordinator for the Englewood AARP Tax-Aide Program. I coordinate a team of 18 volunteers who prepare and electronically file income tax returns for approximately 750 low-to-moderate income individuals and families each year. Helping people navigate what can be a confusing process—and often saving them hundreds of dollars in tax preparation fees—is both personally and professionally rewarding.

Why I'm Running

Like many Rotonda West residents, I don't always agree with every decision made by the RWA Board. It's easy to express disagreements on social media, but simply criticizing decisions does little to improve them. I believe the best way to make a positive difference is to become actively involved.

There's an old saying: "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem." That philosophy has guided my decision to run for the Board of Directors. Rather than standing on the sidelines, I want to put my experience, commitment, and willingness to listen to work on behalf of our members.

If elected, I will approach every issue with an open mind, ask the hard questions when necessary, and always strive to make decisions that are transparent, fiscally responsible, and in the best interests of the entire Rotonda West community.

I would be honored to earn your vote and the opportunity to serve our community.
